The Robert E. Morris Company Releases EASTEC Plans

[Windsor, CT: April 20, 2009] The Robert E. Morris Company of Windsor, Connecticut will be a major exhibitor at EASTEC, May 19-21, 2009. The New England machine tool distributor plans to display advanced automated machine tools and related accessories from Okuma Corporation, Tsugami Precision Swiss, Takamatsu Machinery, Sugino Corporation, Trumpf TruMark Laser Marking Systems, Chevalier Machinery, Jones & Shipman, and MP-Systems. “Ask Morris” experienced engineers and service specialists will provide free technical advice to visitors who stop by Booth 1305 or pre- schedule an appointment at www.robertemorris.com.
The Robert E. Morris Company will display the Okuma Space Turn LB3000 EX, a powerful horizontal CNC lathe that performs a broad range of turning applications, at EASTEC 2009. The Okuma MB-56V Vertical Machining Center with OSP control and the Okuma VTT-70 Vertical Four-Axis Lathe with Fanuc control also will be showcased. The MB-56V holds extremely tight tolerances; the Okuma VTT-70 is designed for heavy cutting and high metal removal.
Two revolutionary Swiss- style machines that garnered great attention at IMTS last fall will return to EASTEC this year. See the top-selling and flexible Tsugami SS32 “Super Swiss Turn” CNC automatic lathe perform live; it features a modular tool zone that provides easy re-tooling. The Tsugami TMU1 combines the capabilities of a Swiss- style lathe and a 5-axis machining center, with 210 degrees of B-axis movement and capacity to hold more than 72 tools. It is the world’s most advanced precision Swiss machine tool.
The Xion-II-5AX—the world’s most compact, high-speed, high precision 5-axis machining center from Sugino will make its East Coast debut at Booth 1305 and run a live cutting demo. The Takamaz X-150 CNC Precision Lathe; the new TruMark 3130 Station 5000 laser marking system from Trumpf; Chevalier Smart 818 CNC surface grinder; Jones & Shipman Suprema 650 Easy cylindrical grinder, and several MP-Systems high-pressure coolant pumps will be displayed by The Robert E. Morris Company, also.

EASTEC, the largest annual manufacturing event on the East Coast, marks its 30th anniversary in 2009. It will be held at the Eastern States Exposition Grounds in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
