Job Responsibilities

The Service Technician-Trainee will have a mechanical inclination and an understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to effectively detect and resolve issues with various machine components. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Tsugami Swiss type lathes with an emphasis on spindle, live tools, attachments
  • Fanuc controls as necessary for the purpose of test running spindles etc.
  • Machine tool electrical, electronics, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and troubleshooting as it pertains to spindles, attachments, etc.
  • Read blueprints, electrical schematics
  • The disassembly, evaluation, repair, and reassembly of spindles, guide bushings and accessories used on Tsugami Lathes and Milling machines.
  • The use of precision measuring equipment as it pertains to the work above.
  • The use, handling, lubrication, mounting, installation and types of precision bearings.
  • The inspection, removal, installation of electric motor components
  • Trained in the use of a portable dynamic balancing machine
  • Alignment of spindles and accessories

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ideal candidate will have completed course work from either a technical high school or college in machining/machine tool or electrical/ industrial electronics and have a mechanical aptitude.
  • Candidates with CNC, mechanics or other relevant training experience would be considered.
  • Demonstrated excellent computer, technical, communication, and presentation skills are required.
  • Fluency in English is required; the ability to read/write/speak Japanese is a plus.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.
  • Flexible hours and travel required; some overnight travel may be necessary.
